So, there we have it. A month off with the Mrs is done and dusted. We really needed that time off; and to think that God would bless us by making the way clear for a month in Vietnam and Cambodia, is truly remarkable. It was a 'long-shot' prayer I'd been asking/hoping for for a couple of years, so to actually get back on the backpacker's trail again was amazing. You might not see cheap hostels, cheap beer and limited luggage as classic R&R, but we can't get enough of the atmosphere. And He knows it.

We met some cool people. We met some incredibly lost people. We read some good books. Ate some amazing food (and suffered some interesting after effects!). Travelled some lesser trodden paths and some equally very cluttered tourist trails. And tried to cling onto Him all the more en route (especially when dangling off the back of a motorbike or speedboat!)

One thing I did learn in the process - and there were a few lessons; pick your times of rest wisely! Make a very deliberate point of setting aside time to do things you find much joy in. Start putting the money aside, even if it takes a while. Prayerfully weigh up the details. Get excited about it. And then run into that time giving God ALL of the glory for it. The Father delights in watching us joyfulfully unwinding from time to time.

But make no mistakes: it's back to business again now.
